Philosophy

During therapy I’ll allow you to explore your world as you know it consciously. My approach is one that is holistic and shaped to support your individual needs. The core modality that I practice from is Person-Centred but I can integrate CBT, DBT and emotion-focused skills into the work that we do together. I may also encourage you to explore your mind, body and soul through experiential and creative therapeutic techniques.

Approach

My approach to therapy is one that is holistic and shaped to support your individual needs. I am Person-Centred, and integrate CBT, DBT, mindfulness and emotion focused techniques into the work that we do together. I am a qualified yoga teacher and can also explore the therapeutic benefits of this practice in therapy.

I work as a DBT therapist and have previously worked with both inpatient and outpatient adults and adolescents. I also lead therapeutic yoga and mindfulness groups. My main area of specialism is working with emotion dysregulation and self-harm.

My broad experience allows me to work with a variety of presenting conditions. However, the uniqueness of you as an individual is what will be the main focus of our work together. I believe we all have the ability within us to find the answers we need, to heal and grow towards our full potential. Nobody understands how we think and feel better than ourselves.

Motivation

I get huge fulfilment from seeing people grow and change into the people they have always desired to be. To be a part of someone’s journey on such a deep level is incredibly rewarding and I love nothing more than giving each unique person the valuable time and space to explore their true selves.

About Me

Self-care is a big one for me! I train regularly at the gym and enjoy practising in both yoga and mindfulness. I am a qualified yoga teacher and facilitate mindfulness groups. I believe that having more awareness of the breath and training the mind to stay calm even through moments of stress and discomfort can better connect us to our true self. Once we can master the art of remaining in the present moment, we can start to understand exactly what it is that we need to heal and grow towards our full potential.

I had a course of CBT Counselling with The Harley Psychology & Therapy Group (Richmond) and although it didn’t provide me with the quick fix miracle solution I was hoping for, it has made my problems feel more manageable.
