Philosophy

During therapy I’ll allow you to explore your world as you know it consciously. My approach is one that is holistic and shaped to support your individual needs. The core modality that I practice from is Person-Centred but I can integrate CBT, DBT and emotion-focused skills into the work that we do together. I may also encourage you to explore your mind, body and soul through experiential and creative therapeutic techniques.

Approach

I am a fully qualified Person-Centred Counsellor MBACP (Accred) and an Integrative Therapist.

My approach focuses on the here and now but I am open to exploring your past as well. Working from an integrative model allows me to shape the sessions to best fit your individual needs whilst in therapy. My broad experience allows me to work with a variety of presenting conditions. However, the uniqueness of you as as individual is what will be the main focus of our work together.

The core of my practice means that I believe we all have the ability within us to find the answers we need, to heal and grow towards our full potential. Nobody understands how we think and feel better than ourselves.

Motivation

My motivation comes from seeing people grow and change into the people they have always desired to be. To be a part of an individual’s journey on such a deep level is incredibly rewarding and I love nothing more than giving each unique person the valuable time and space to be their true selves. We have many different faces that we show the world, but I provide a safe space where you can explore who you truly are, without fear of being judged.

About Me

I am a regular in the gym and enjoy practising yoga and mindfulness. As well as this, I am a qualified yoga teacher and may invite this practice within the therapeutic space as well as I feel the benefits of this practice are endless. I think that having an awareness of the breath and challenging the mind to stay calm in certain postures on the mat is another window to connect us to our true selves. If we slow things down, and turn our attention inward, rather than focusing on the world outside of ourselves, we can start to understand what it is we need to heal.

I had a course of CBT Counselling with The Harley Psychology & Therapy Group (Richmond) and although it didn’t provide me with the quick fix miracle solution I was hoping for, it has made my problems feel more manageable.
