Philosophy

I am an Integrative Counselling Psychologist and Psychotherapist.  My approach is relational and my therapeutic model incorporates a developmental-relational way of working.

I have experience of working with a broad range of mental health issues: bereavement, relationship difficulties, work-related difficulties, stress, anxiety, self-esteem and confidence building, depression, trauma and existential concerns.

Whether you are experiencing general problems such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem or a specific problem related to trauma, relationship difficulties, bereavement or life-changing circumstances, I believe that together we can support you to explore your concerns and difficulties so that you gain a better understanding of yourself and how to engage effectively with your process in order to achieve optimum levels of health physically, emotionally, psychologically, spiritually and energetically.

Approach

Counselling and Psychotherapy provide you with a unique and safe space to explore and work through current difficulties.  We will work collaboratively to empathically explore your feelings, thoughts and personal experiences and focus on supporting you to manage distress so that you experience more enriching and rewarding experiences in relationship with self, other and your environment.

Motivation

My specialism is providing individual therapy for adults with a particular focus on accessing and building on the relationship with the self.  I hold a keen interest in Transpersonal Psychology and Energy Psychotherapy and am motivated to integrate these rather innovative modalities within the therapy experience, as I believe they may potentially enhance the therapeutic relationship and one’s understanding of oneself, others and the environment.  In this respect, I work creatively, thereby honouring the uniqueness of the person.  Consequently, I support the individual to connect, reconnect and get to know the self at a deeper level.  My approach involves supporting individuals to develop their self-reflexivity skills so that they can engage authentically with self and other from a place of conscious awareness, build emotional robustness leaning to a sense of increased wellbeing.
